Computer Keyboard Test Terms of Use

Use the test as a browser observation aid, with its limits in view.

Purpose and scope

Mycelgrid LLC provides Computer Keyboard Test as a free browser utility for observing key events delivered to a focused page. You control starting, pausing, resetting and explicitly copying or downloading results. No account or hardware permission is required for this app's test.

Results are observations

The app is not a hardware certification service, repair service, driver utility or warranty adjudicator. A missing event, incomplete release or observed key combination does not alone prove a fault, switch health, response latency or an advertised rollover rating. Firmware, operating-system/browser behavior, focus and input methods can change the events a webpage sees.

Use another application, browser or device when investigating uncertain behavior. You remain responsible for decisions based on these observations and for whether a third party will accept an exported report. No such acceptance is guaranteed.

Sessions and reports

Test results are held in the current page's memory. They can be lost on reload, tab closure or browser failure. Keep an explicit copy when needed. Clipboard/download destinations can store those copies beyond this app. Reports contain aggregate code usage and should be shared thoughtfully.

The app pauses at its documented resource bounds: 256 distinct codes and 1,000,000 observations per corresponding bounded counter. Encoded reports are limited to 1 MiB. The manual describes exact counts, diagram assumptions and output behavior. No saved-session restoration or remote backup is promised.

Responsible use

Use the test on keyboards and systems you are authorized to operate. Do not enter secrets as test passages, misrepresent a summary as certified hardware evidence, or attempt to disrupt the website. The app's own appearance, code and publisher identity remain subject to applicable intellectual-property rights; third-party standards retain their own attribution and terms.

Availability and questions

Browsers, input devices and platform behavior vary. We may maintain the utility and its explanations as those environments change. The app is provided without a promise that every key or shortcut can be observed, and without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation. These terms do not remove rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
