Computer Keyboard Test

Computer Keyboard Test Privacy Policy

The test processes key observations in the current browser page. It does not save your work automatically.

What the test handles

While you explicitly start or resume the focused test area, the app uses browser-delivered keyboard events to show physical-position codes, current key detail and per-code aggregate counts. Leaving that focus pauses capture. Keys typed in navigation, selectors, dialogs, other pages or other applications are not collected by the test.

The latest key value is displayed temporarily and replaced by the next accepted event; it is not included in reports. The app does not build a typed passage, chronological keystroke log, per-key timing history or composition-text history. Aggregate reference-key usage can still be sensitive in context, so use test presses rather than entering passwords or other private passages.

Memory, reload and appearance

Session results and reference/key-name choices remain in page memory. They are not written to localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, cookies, a backend or an account. Reloading or closing the page can lose them. A browser history return may keep page memory but is not a reliable saved copy.

This site's appearance setting can store your System, Light or Dark preference under computer-keyboard-test:theme. That preference is separate from keyboard observations. This app does not read or delete another app's saved work.

Explicit copies

Copy report and Download report act only when you choose them. They pause the test and produce a local summary of code-level aggregate observations, selected reference, versions, generated timestamp and limitations. They exclude raw key values, typed content, chronology, user-agent fingerprint and hardware identity. The clipboard, browser download folder or a service you later choose can store a copy outside this app.

There is no report upload, restore, automatic sharing or session data in a share URL. This app does not read your clipboard. The manual-copy fallback displays a read-only report for your own copy action.

Website requests and communication

Your browser requests the website's HTML, scripts, styles and images from its hosting infrastructure. The app does not add analytics, tracking pixels, remote keystroke logging or telemetry, and test processing makes no work-data network requests. Hosting providers may process ordinary request information under their own infrastructure policies; this is distinct from a keyboard report upload.

If you email us, your mail provider and ours handle that message. Send non-sensitive reproduction steps rather than passwords, typed passages or an unsolicited full report. We do not offer an automatic inbox upload from the test.

Questions and control

Reset test clears this page's observations. Close the page to end the in-memory session; keep any wanted report first. To discuss this policy or a privacy request, email privacy@mycelgrid.com. General feedback goes to contact@mycelgrid.com. Published by Mycelgrid LLC.
