About Computer Keyboard Test
A clear view of the key events that reach your browser.
Computer Keyboard Test is a free browser utility published by Mycelgrid LLC. Start a focused session, press keys, see the physical-position codes and held combinations the browser reports, and keep an explicit local summary if it helps your troubleshooting.
Observation with a clear boundary
A webpage sees events delivered to it, not the inside of a keyboard. Firmware, the operating system, browser shortcuts, focus and input methods can affect what arrives. A missing event alone does not establish a broken key, and this app does not certify hardware, measure polling rate or latency, or promise a repair.
A small instrument
The keyboard reference is the main surface. Distinct code identities separate left/right modifiers and the numeric keypad where events support it. Reports explain presses, repeats, observed releases and interrupted holds instead of turning them into a health score. There is no account, saved-session database or typed-text history.
How it is built
The app uses HTML, CSS and browser JavaScript with this site's dedicated appearance controller. It needs no third-party runtime library or hardware-access permission for the test. Physical identity and key meanings follow W3C code values and key values. The manual explains the app's own grouping and report rules.
App version 1.0.3. Engine 1.0.0. Report schema 1.0.0.
